About Ted Cawkwell

The Early Years:

My working career began early in life on a family grain farm near Nut Mountain, SK. I quickly learned the value of hard work, determination, and resilience. This is a trait all producers seem to require to work in this industry.

At the age of 23, I started my own grain farming operation. I needed to add cash flow to my farm and help build my equipment base. In order to do so, I also simultaneously, ran a custom application business. I held many positions on boards and organizations and worked diligently. Networking, growing my knowledge and helping to make positive changes for the Western Canadian farmer.

Award Winning Businesses:

In the year 2000 my passion for this province, and the outdoors, inspired me to add a tourism based business to my quickly expanding agriculture operations. I developed, owned and operated several award-winning tourism businesses. Over the next few years this ultimately led me to sell my grain farm. In 2004 I pursued a new dream of building one of the world’s most remote and luxurious fly-in fishing resorts. This was built in northern Saskatchewan. I continued to work on the family farm and stay in touch with the agriculture sector during this period.

In 2008 I took advantage of an unexpected opportunity to sell the fishing resorts. My resort sales were extremely high! My reputation was well known throughout North America although the world economic situation was starting to slow down. Understanding the value of timing and knowing when to buy and when to sell served me well in this transaction.

Due to demand from business associates, I founded a consulting company. This was built to assist other businesses to achieve success in a multitude of areas. Some areas of focus included marketing, business planning and recruitment. I also worked on strategic planning, product development and succession planning.

A Little Bit More About Me:

One of my greatest passions  is giving back to the province in which I live, work and play. I host an annual children’s fishing event in Saskatoon and give back in a number of other areas whenever possible. With my real estate business, I donate to a charity of your choice for every Buyer or Seller who completes a real estate transaction with me.

Over the years of owning and operating various agriculture and tourism businesses, working with other organizations through my consulting company, and dabbling in personal real estate transactions I have developed my skills as an entrepreneur, businessman, and individual.

Over the past several years I have focused these acquired skills to assist Buyers and Sellers of farmland as an award-winning Agriculture Specialist with RE/MAX.

Being A Team Player:

In an effort to give exemplary customer service I have assembled a dynamic team of individuals that includes two administrative assistants who support me in my daily operations and a team member on the road to take pictures, place signs and take aerial video with my drone. As a team, we have had the pleasure of servicing Buyers and Sellers of farms from less than $100,000 to as large as $26,500,000.

I accredit my success in real estate to my past farming and business experience but also to my love of farming! In the past couple of years, this passion for the Agriculture industry had me purchase a few quarters of grain land which I have been farming with my brother. Farming is in my blood and I am happy to be farming on a small scale again.

I hope to use this passion along with my knowledge, people power, and years of experience as an award-winning Realtor to help serve your needs as a Buyer or Seller of farmland.
